Free Fanpage Karma Alternatives (2027): Free Tools for Competitor Analysis, Engagement Benchmarks and Social Media Reports

Free Fanpage Karma Alternatives for Competitor Analysis, Engagement Benchmarks and Social Media Reports

People look for a Fanpage Karma alternative for one main reason: they want to see how their social media pages perform next to their competitors, and they do not want to pay for a full analytics suite to find out. This guide covers free tools only, judged on the jobs Fanpage Karma is known for: tracking competitor pages, comparing engagement, spotting the posts that work, and turning the numbers into a report. We checked every free plan and limit on the official websites in November 2026.
Quick answer: first, try Fanpage Karma's own Free plan, which now tracks 5 of your profiles and 5 competitor profiles at no cost. If you want a second opinion, Metricool Free also tracks 5 competitor profiles, Rival IQ's free head-to-head reports compare you with one rival, and Social Blade and HypeAuditor's free tools check any public creator account. Fanpage Karma Now Has a Free Plan: What You Get

Fanpage Karma is a social media management tool from uphill GmbH that combines analytics, competitor benchmarking, publishing, a team inbox and influencer discovery. The 2025 version of this article said you had to pay for it. That has changed: its pricing page now lists a Free plan at €0, forever, "with no time limit and no credit card required". It covers 5 owned and 5 competitor profiles, 50 posts per month, one analytics dashboard with 30 days of history, and trial credits for the AI features.
The paid Professional plan costs €29 a month, billed annually, for unlimited brands and profiles, up to 20 competitor profiles per dashboard and 12 months of history. Deeper benchmarking is an add-on: Benchmarking and Content Analysis (+€19 a month per brand, up to 50 competitors) or a Research Dashboard (+€69 a month, up to 500 competitor profiles). Its data API counts profiles on Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Bluesky, YouTube, LinkedIn, Pinterest, TikTok and X, which shows how wide its network coverage is. For a small brand watching five rivals, the free plan may be all you need; the alternatives below are for when you want more history, other networks or a different view.

The Best Free Fanpage Karma Alternatives in 2027

1. Metricool Free: the closest free match for competitor tracking

Metricool is the free plan that comes closest to Fanpage Karma's. According to its pricing page, Metricool Free covers 1 brand, all of that brand's social networks except LinkedIn and X (Twitter), analysis of 5 competitor profiles and 30 days of analytics. The Starter plan (from €16 a month, billed annually, when we checked from Europe) raises that to up to 100 competitors and adds LinkedIn plus PDF and PPT reports. Use the free plan to watch five rivals on Instagram, Facebook or TikTok; upgrade only when you need LinkedIn or exportable reports.

2. Rival IQ free tools: head-to-head reports and industry benchmarks

Rival IQ, now part of Quid, offers free tools built around one question: how do you stack up against your top competitor? You can run a free head-to-head report for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook or Twitter, and browse live benchmark dashboards that compare social metrics, hashtags and content with thousands of profiles in your industry. The full platform is expensive for a startup (from $239 a month on the monthly plan), with a 14-day free trial and no credit card required. The free reports are one-off snapshots, so they suit a quarterly check rather than daily tracking.

3. Social Blade: free public stats for creators and brands

Social Blade tracks daily statistics and growth for more than 175 million accounts on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Twitch and Facebook, according to its homepage. Look up any public account to see follower and view growth over time, compare it with others, and browse top lists in your niche. A free account lets you save favourites; a paid membership removes the ads and unlocks 3+ years of daily history, charts and report cards. It is strongest for YouTube and creators, and has no publishing or inbox features. (Its site blocked our screenshot tool, so there is no image here.)

4. HypeAuditor free tools: engagement checks before you work with a creator

HypeAuditor is a paid influencer marketing platform, but its free tools page covers several Fanpage Karma-style checks: engagement rate check, account audit, fake followers check and compare accounts, for Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Twitch and Twitter. Use it to benchmark a competitor's engagement rate against your own, or to check an influencer before you pay for a post.

5. Iconosquare: free audits and a small free plan

Iconosquare is an analytics-first social media tool. Its free tools include an Instagram audit and a Facebook audit that review your own account's performance, and it says they work without extra budget or signup hurdles. According to the FAQ on its plans page, every account starts with a 14-day free trial without a credit card, then switches to a free plan for 1 user and 2 social profiles with limited analytics and scheduling. Competitor tracking is a paid feature, so treat Iconosquare as a free check of your own pages rather than a competitor tool. Prices vary by region, so we do not quote them.

6. LinkedIn Page analytics: one free competitor, built in

If your audience is on LinkedIn, start with the analytics you already have. According to LinkedIn's help page on competitor analytics, Page admins can compare their Page with 1 competitor for free, and with up to 9 competitors on a Premium Company Page. It shows followers gained, engagement rates and competitors' new posts, comments and reactions, plus trending competitor posts from the past 30 days. This matters because Metricool's free plan does not include LinkedIn.

7. TikTok Creative Center Top Ads: see which competitor ads perform

TikTok's Top Ads page in the Creative Center lets you "see high-performing auction ads on TikTok" and filter them by region, objective, ad language and format, sorted by reach or click-through rate. It does not track a competitor's organic page, but it shows which ad formats and hooks work in your market before you spend money. Note that TikTok now sends the Creative Center start page to its TikTok One Creative Suite, so the location of these tools may change again.

What Changed Since the 2025 List

The 2025 version of this article listed nine tools. Most of them are social media schedulers rather than analytics tools, so they answer a different question:
  • Buffer, Publer, Later, Agorapulse, RobinReach and Social Champ: scheduling tools with some analytics. Their current free plans and trials are compared in our free Hootsuite alternatives guide, so we do not repeat them here.
  • Hootsuite: still has no free plan; see the same guide and our Hootsuite vs CoSchedule comparison.
  • Zoho Social: after a 15-day trial it has a free plan (1 brand, 6 channels, 1 member) with overview reports only. Its pricing page lists no competitor tracking, so it is not a Fanpage Karma replacement.
  • Metricool: kept, and moved to the top, because its free plan includes competitor analysis.
  • Fanpage Karma itself: now has a free plan, which the old article missed.
We also removed the old feature claims that had no source. Two tools we considered were left out because we could not confirm their terms on an official page: Meta's Ad Library and Google's free report builder.

Which Free Fanpage Karma Alternative Should You Choose?

  • You track up to 5 competitors on Instagram, Facebook or TikTok: Fanpage Karma Free or Metricool Free. Try both for a month and keep the dashboard you prefer.
  • You need a one-off competitor report for a pitch or a board meeting: a Rival IQ head-to-head report.
  • You compare YouTube channels or creators: Social Blade.
  • You are choosing influencers: HypeAuditor's engagement and fake-follower checks.
  • You sell to businesses on LinkedIn: LinkedIn's built-in Page analytics, as Metricool Free does not cover LinkedIn.
  • You plan TikTok ads: TikTok's Top Ads.
  • You report to clients every month: free plans will not be enough. Compare paid analytics tools in our Social Status alternatives guide, or Sprout Social vs Later.

How Founders Use Free Competitor Analytics

For an early-stage startup, competitor analytics answers three questions: which topics and formats your market responds to, how often rivals post, and whether your engagement rate is normal for your niche. Pick three to five competitors, check them once a month, and write down what changed. That is enough to steer your content without paying for a suite.
To find posts that went viral before you copy the format, use the free and open-source tools in our open-source ViralFindr alternatives guide. To publish what you learn, compare the self-hosted schedulers in our open-source Buffer alternatives.
