AI Accelerators in Europe: 15 Programmes for AI Startups, Checked on Cash, Equity and Next Intake
Europe now has its own AI accelerators, from Station F's invite-only F/ai in Paris to AI NATION in Germany and the ETH AI Center's AI Foundry in Zurich, and the big generalist programmes (Entrepreneurs First, Antler, Techstars) fill their cohorts with AI teams. What a founder needs to know before applying is simple: how much money the programme puts in, what it takes in return, where you have to be and when the next intake opens. We checked 15 accelerators and accelerator-style programmes for AI startups in Europe on their own websites on 2 November 2026. Programmes from the 2025 version of this list that closed, changed or could not be verified are listed in a separate section.
Quick answer: for the biggest first cheque, look at Antler's ONE Residency in Berlin (up to €500K), EWOR (up to €500K, apply by 30 November), Entrepreneurs First in London (a £6,000 grant, then up to $250K) or Techstars London ($220K). For an AI-only programme that takes no equity, apply to the Physical AI Growth Lab in Munich (deadline 13 November 2026, up to €350K in Azure credits), AI NATION in Germany or the Creative Destruction Lab AI stream in Paris, Berlin or San Sebastián. If your technology already works and you want large non-dilutive money, the EIC Accelerator gives grants below €2.5 million and accepts short proposals at any time.

United Kingdom
1. Entrepreneurs First (London)
Entrepreneurs First (EF) invests in individuals before they have a co-founder or an idea, and many of its teams build AI products. In London you join the 12-week FORM programme to find a co-founder, with a £6,000 equity-free Talent Investment for living or company costs. Teams that pass EF's investment committee get up to $250,000: $125,000 on a post-money SAFE for 8%, plus an optional $125,000 uncapped MFN SAFE if the team moves to San Francisco for the 12-week LAUNCH programme and incorporates in Delaware. EF also runs an eight-week Bay Area residency for young Europeans who graduated in 2023 or later. Next intake: applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Best for: AI researchers and engineers without a co-founder.
2. Antler UK (London)
Antler in the UK runs an eight-week, full-time residency in London with 80 to 100 founders, solo or in early teams. If it invests at the end, it puts in £210K at inception: £125K for 8.5% equity plus an £85K convertible note, with a £40K programme fee. It says up to £330K more is available in your next round. Next intake: the UK page does not publish dates and asks founders to apply early. Best for: founders who want a first cheque and help forming a team.
3. Techstars London
Techstars London is the only Techstars accelerator in Europe on its current list. It is a three-month programme for early-stage founders in all verticals, and Techstars invests $220,000 in each company it accepts. Next intake: the final application deadline was set for 18 November 2026; the programme starts on 8 March 2027 and Demo Day is on 3 June 2027. Best for: AI startups with a product that want a US-style accelerator in London.
4. AI Accelerator, University of Edinburgh (Scotland)
The AI Accelerator at the University of Edinburgh's Bayes Centre is a six-month programme for 10 to 14 AI-driven companies. It is equity-free: founders get a £8,000 stipend, workshops, one-to-one mentoring and introductions to investors. It says it has supported 106 companies since 2019. Next intake: applications for the September 2026 cohort are closed; you can register interest for the next one. Best for: AI companies that want to grow from Scotland without giving up equity.
France and Spain
5. Station F F/ai (Paris)
F/ai is Station F's programme for AI-native startups with strong technical teams, launched in January 2026. It aims to help them reach €1 million in revenue within six months, with partners such as Mistral AI, Hugging Face, Meta, Google, Microsoft, OpenAI and Anthropic. Its second cohort started in September 2026; it now includes a week in San Francisco and takes selected hybrid teams based in other European hubs. The catch: F/ai does not accept applications. Startups are picked only through recommendations from founders, partners and investors, and Station F does not publish its terms. Best for: European AI startups whose investors can recommend them.
6. Creative Destruction Lab, Artificial Intelligence stream (Paris, Berlin, San Sebastián)
Creative Destruction Lab (CDL) is a non-profit, objectives-based mentoring programme for science-based startups. It charges no fee and takes no equity; mentors (founders, scientists and investors) set objectives with you, and many invest in ventures that hit them. Its Artificial Intelligence stream runs in Europe at CDL-Paris (with HEC Paris), at CDL-Berlin (with ESMT, one of its five streams) and at CDL-San Sebastián (with IESE, focused on natural language processing and multilingual models). Next intake: applications are open for the 2026/27 programme year. Best for: seed-stage AI startups that want investor feedback without giving up equity.
Germany, Switzerland and the Netherlands
7. AI NATION (Berlin and Munich)
AI NATION is the merger of AI+MUNICH and K.I.E.Z., with hubs in Berlin and Munich. It runs two programmes for AI teams in Germany. The AI NATION Grant gives early-stage founder teams up to €45,000 in founder scholarships per team over six months. The AI NATION Accelerator is a six-month programme for incorporated German AI startups with traction, with about eight startups per batch and region, two batches a year and up to €10,000 per team, non-dilutive with no equity taken. Next intake: both programme pages list the next call for Q1 2027. Best for: AI founders from German universities and research labs.
8. Physical AI Growth Lab, UnternehmerTUM (Munich)
The Physical AI Growth Lab is run by the UnternehmerTUM Accelerator with Microsoft, NVIDIA and Infineon. It is free and you keep 100% of your equity; startups get up to €350K in Microsoft Azure credits, NVIDIA Inception credits and hardware discounts, technical workshops, customer matchmaking and a Demo Day in front of 150 to 200 deep tech investors and enterprise leaders. It targets physical AI, robotics and industrial AI startups based in or building for EMEA, with an MVP and early customers, pilots or LOIs, up to 20 people and founded less than three years ago. Next intake: the application deadline was set for 13 November 2026; the hybrid programme runs from January to April 2027, with in-person sessions in Munich (kick-off 18 to 22 January, Demo Day 15 April). Best for: robotics and industrial AI startups with first customers.

9. Antler ONE Residency (Berlin and Amsterdam) and Antler Nordics
For founders in continental Europe, Antler's ONE Residency brings about 100 founders together twice a year, starting in March and September, from its hub in Berlin with a launch pad in Amsterdam. Complete teams usually join for about six weeks; solo founders and incomplete teams join for about ten weeks of co-founder matching. Antler can decide to invest up to €500K within the residency, which it says typically converts into around 10% at a €5M valuation, and founders get more than €650K in credits for AI, software and cloud. AI companies such as Peec AI and Lovable are quoted on the page. In the Nordics, Antler works with founders year-round in Copenhagen, Helsinki, Stockholm and Oslo instead of fixed residencies, according to its cohort calendar. Best for: European founders who want a large first cheque and co-founder matching.
10. EWOR Fellowship (Berlin, virtual-first)
EWOR is a European fellowship that invests up to €500K in founders, with mentorship from partners who built companies such as SumUp, Adjust and ProGlove. It runs an Ideation Fellowship for founders as early as pre-idea and a Traction Fellowship for founders with first revenue; both are virtual, with in-person gatherings and a two-month San Francisco residency. Its fellows include several AI founders, for example in biomedical AI and 3D vision models. Next intake: when we checked on 2 November 2026, the homepage asked founders to apply by 30 November. Best for: very ambitious solo founders and early teams.
11. ETH AI Center AI Foundry (Zurich)
The AI Foundry is the ETH AI Center's programme for ETH researchers, students and recent graduates building AI deep tech startups. It is continuous rather than cohort-based: teams usually stay six to twelve months and get up to 10,000 GPU hours, hands-on engineering support and one funded patent application (up to CHF 15,000). In return it charges a 2% fee on capital raised after joining, declining to 0% over 48 months from incorporation. Next intake: rolling applications since 2 October 2026. Best for: ETH research teams that need compute and an IP licence.
Nordics
12. Accelerace (Copenhagen and the Nordics)
Accelerace has worked with founders since 2008 and calls itself the leading pre-seed investor and startup accelerator in the Nordics. It invests in Nordic and Baltic pre-seed startups, co-manages partner programmes and runs a founder community, Accelerace Allstars. It is not AI-only and does not publish its cheque size on its homepage, so ask before you apply. Best for: Nordic and Baltic AI teams that want a local pre-seed investor.
Pan-European and EU Programmes
13. AI Launchpad (pan-European)
AI Launchpad connects Europe's AI hubs through one platform, run by Rise Europe and backed by ELIAS. It is for AI founders whose companies come out of research. Local facilitators nominate startups (there are no open calls); selected teams join two or three online workshops and then spend one to two weeks in another European AI hub for curated meetings, events and VC introductions, in a Spring or Fall season. Next intake: nominations for Fall 2026 are closed. Best for: research-based AI startups that want to test a second European market.
14. EIC Accelerator (EU)
The EIC Accelerator is the European Innovation Council's funding programme for startups and SMEs with innovations at TRL 6 to 8, AI included. It gives a lump-sum grant below €2.5 million, to be used within 24 months, and €1 million to €10 million in equity or quasi-equity, plus coaching and access to corporate partners. The 2026 budget is €414 million for Accelerator Open (any technology) and €220 million for Accelerator Challenges. Short proposals can be submitted at any time, and the EIC says it particularly welcomes startups with female CEOs. In 2026 the EIC also piloted Advanced Innovation Challenges; the first was "Accelerating Physical AI" for AI-powered robotics, and its stage 1 deadline passed on 26 February 2026. Our sister site has a step-by-step EIC Accelerator guide.
15. Google for Startups Accelerator: Europe and Israel
The Google for Startups Accelerator: Europe and Israel is a three-month, equity-free programme for cohorts of 10 to 15 startups, from pre-seed to post-Series A. The latest edition focused on startups using AI for the energy transition: grid modernisation, load flexibility and lower energy costs for households and industry. It gives mentoring from Google teams and product support, but no cash. Next intake: applications are closed; you can register interest for future programmes. Best for: AI startups with traction that need technical help rather than money.

AI Accelerators From the 2025 List That Closed or Changed
The 2025 version of this article listed 15 programmes, several of them sourced from third-party blogs. Here is what we found on the official sites:

- Google AI First Europe: Google's European accelerator now runs as the Europe and Israel track focused on AI for energy (number 15).
- Grow AI Accelerator (Social Tides): its page now says there are no active programmes.
- AI Startup Incubator (AISI): the old entry came from a third-party blog, and we found no official programme page, so it was removed.
- L Marks: now presents itself as a corporate innovation company that runs programmes for large organisations, not an AI accelerator with its own cheque.
- The Venture City: now a Series A venture fund, not an acceleration programme.
- Seedcamp: a seed fund that backs companies from day one; its site shows no cohort accelerator or fixed terms.
- InnoEnergy: its homepage presents a clean tech innovation ecosystem and portfolio, with no AI accelerator call.
- HAX: the hard-tech programme of SOSV is based in Newark, New Jersey; see our AI accelerators in North America.
- Removed numbers: figures the official sites do not confirm, such as the EIC's "€1.4 billion for 2025", Techstars' "$120,000", Antler's "€100,000", Accelerace's "DKK 500,000", Seedcamp's "€100,000", L Marks' "£250,000", The Venture City's "€500,000", HAX's "$1 million" and InnoEnergy's "€150,000".

How European AI Founders Use Accelerators
Most European AI founders combine programmes: a university incubator or grant to build the first model, an equity-free accelerator for customers and credits, then a cash accelerator or investor once there is traction. Compare the support options in our list of AI incubators and accelerators in Europe and the general startup incubators in Europe; hardware-heavy AI teams should also read our deep tech accelerators in Europe. Where you build matters for talent and investors, so check the best cities for AI startups in Europe. Read every term sheet carefully: a fixed 8% or 10% at inception is real dilution, so compare offers with our guide to term sheet negotiation. After Demo Day you will need investors: start with the VCs for AI startups, the early-stage VCs in Europe and the angel investors for AI startups. Non-dilutive money stretches your runway: see the artificial intelligence grants in Europe on our sister site. Pitch competitions are a cheap way to practise: see the startup competitions in Europe and the top startup events on AI. And before you apply anywhere, validate your startup idea with real customers, because every programme asks about traction.
