Bangkok Startups to Watch in 2027: 8 Verified Bangkok Companies in Fintech, Food Delivery, Logistics, SaaS and EdTech

Bangkok is where most of Thailand's tech companies sit: the payment apps, delivery platforms and business software that millions of Thais use every day are built in offices along Sukhumvit, Ratchadaphisek and Wireless Road. The 2026 version of this article listed ten names, but it did not hold up well: several companies had no website we could find, one is based in Singapore, one old link now leads to a gambling page, and many of the figures had no source. For this 2027 edition we started again and checked every company on its own website in November 2026: that it still operates, that it gives Bangkok as its head office, what it builds and what it publishes about its funding and reach. What happened to the old names is listed near the end. For the smaller scene on the Eastern Seaboard coast, see our Pattaya startups to watch.
Quick answer: the Bangkok startups to watch in 2027 are Ascend Money (TrueMoney and digital financial services), LINE MAN Wongnai (food delivery, groceries and restaurant software), Flash Express (parcel delivery), FlowAccount (online accounting for small businesses), Jitta (stock analysis and automated investing), Builk (software for construction companies), Skooldio (digital skills courses) and Investree Thailand (crowdfunding loans for SMEs). Two of them, Ascend Money and LINE MAN Wongnai, describe themselves as unicorns. For support, look at True Digital Park, the National Innovation Agency (NIA) and, for foreign founders, the BOI's SMART and LTR visas.

Why Bangkok Matters for Founders in 2027

The companies below share a pattern: they solve everyday problems for Thai consumers and small businesses first (paying, eating, shipping, bookkeeping, building, learning) and only then expand into neighbouring countries. Ascend Money operates in six Southeast Asian countries, Builk in five and Flash Express in three, all run from Bangkok. Several of them also grew with Thai corporate money: Ascend Money is backed by C.P. Group, Wongnai took its Series B from Intouch, and Skooldio is part of Learn Corporation.
We removed the old article's claim that Bangkok's startup ecosystem would "reach $35 billion by the end of 2026" and its other growth figures, because they gave no primary source. For the wider picture in Asia, compare our lists of startups to watch in China, Fukuoka, Hong Kong and Ulaanbaatar, and our guide to the best countries for AI startups.

The Bangkok Startups to Watch in 2027

1. Ascend Money: TrueMoney and financial services for Southeast Asia

Ascend Money runs the TrueMoney digital payment platform and three sister brands: Ascend Nano for personal loans and nano finance, Ascend Wealth for wealth management and Ascend Assurance for insurance. Its homepage says it operates in six countries (Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines), has processed USD 14 billion, serves 50 million users and customers, including 21 million e-wallet users, and has a network of 88,000 agents. Its contact page gives its head office in the Phoenix Building at True Digital Park on Sukhumvit Road, Bangkok. Its news page carries the headline that it reached a US$1.5 billion valuation and became Thailand's first fintech unicorn, and a release on an investment from Japan's MUFG together with the Finnoventure Private Equity Trust I fund, alongside existing investors C.P. Group, Ant Group and Bow Wave Capital Management.
Lesson for founders: TrueMoney's agents (small shops that take cash for the wallet) brought digital payments to people without bank accounts. Offline partners can carry a digital product into markets that apps alone cannot reach.
Best for: founders in fintech, payments and financial inclusion.

2. LINE MAN Wongnai: delivery, reviews and restaurant software

LINE MAN Wongnai runs the LINE MAN app (food ordering, LINE MAN MART groceries and shopping, delivery, ride-hailing and telepharmacy) and Wongnai, the restaurant review platform, together with Wongnai POS for restaurants. Its company history says Wongnai was founded on 12 July 2010 by four classmates from Chulalongkorn University's Faculty of Engineering, raised Series A money from Recruit Strategic Partners in 2013 and 2014 and a Series B from Intouch in 2016. In 2020 LINE MAN, launched by LINE Thailand in 2016, was spun off and merged with Wongnai after a USD 110 million investment from BRV Capital Management. In September 2022 the company raised USD 265 million in a Series B led by GIC and LINE Corporation, which took its valuation past USD 1 billion, and in July 2023 it bought FoodStory, the restaurant POS startup. Its contact page gives its head office at One Bangkok Tower 4 on Wireless Road, Pathum Wan. In September 2026 it launched Wongnai Genie, an AI assistant for restaurant owners, free to Wongnai POS users.
Lesson for founders: Wongnai spent years building restaurant data and reviews before delivery took off. The data and the merchant relationships became the base for every product that followed.
Best for: founders in food tech, marketplaces and software for restaurants.

3. Flash Express: parcel delivery for online sellers

Flash Express is a parcel delivery company for businesses and consumers (B2B, B2C and C2C) with next-day delivery, weekend delivery, free pickup and cash on delivery: online sellers can sign up for COD themselves, with fees starting at 2.5% and money transferred the next day. Its site serves Thailand, the Philippines and Laos and says the wider Flash Group offers other e-commerce services as well. Its contact page gives its head office on floors 33 and 34 of AIA Connect on Ratchadaphisek Road, Huai Khwang, Bangkok. It does not publish funding figures on its site, so we do not quote any.
Lesson for founders: Flash Express built its services around online sellers: pickup at the door, cash on delivery and fast payouts. Design your product around the daily pain of one customer group.
Best for: founders in logistics, e-commerce enablement and services for online sellers.

4. FlowAccount: online accounting for Thai small businesses

FlowAccount calls itself a Thai tech startup founded in 2015 that makes cloud accounting, payroll and POS software and a mobile accounting app for small businesses. Its about page says more than 160,000 businesses, more than 17,000 accountants and admins and more than 6,000 accounting firm partners use it, and it offers a 30-day free trial with no credit card. Its homepage now also promotes a FlowAccount AI Connector (MCP), so business owners can ask an AI assistant questions about their own accounting data. Its head office is in Surawong Tower, Bang Rak, Bangkok.
Lesson for founders: FlowAccount grows through accountants as well as business owners: thousands of accounting firms recommend it to their clients. A partner channel can bring customers far more cheaply than ads.
Best for: founders in SME software, fintech and B2B SaaS.

5. Jitta: stock analysis and automated investing

Jitta applies a value-investing method, inspired by Warren Buffett's "buy a wonderful company at a fair price", to stock data: Jitta.com analyses stocks in seven countries for free, and Jitta Wealth automates the investing for people who want a hands-off approach. Its about page names its co-founders, CEO Trawut Luangsomboon, COO Pornthip Kongchun, a former Google executive, and CTO Sira Sujjinanont, and lists awards including Start-up of the Year at Thailand's National Innovation Day 2016. Its headquarters is Jitta House on Lad Prao Road, Bangkok. It does not publish funding amounts on its site.
Lesson for founders: Jitta gives away its analysis for free and earns from the automated product built on it. A free tool that proves its value is a strong path to a paid service.
Best for: founders in wealth tech, investing tools and women-led fintech.

6. Builk: software for construction companies

Builk started as what it calls the first free web application in Asia for managing a construction business, helping contractors control costs. Its about page says more than 18,000 small and mid-sized contractors manage their work on its system in five Southeast Asian countries (Thailand, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar and Cambodia), and that from 2016 it built apps for other parts of the industry, such as JUBILI by BUILK for building material shops. Its site also lists loans for contractors and machinery, insurance and online courses. The head office of Builk One Group is on Ratchadaphisek Road in Huai Khwang, Bangkok.
Lesson for founders: Builk gave contractors a free tool first and later added paid services (loans, insurance, training) that the same users need. Free software can earn its keep through the services built around it.
Best for: founders in construction tech, vertical SaaS and SME finance.

7. Skooldio: digital and AI skills for working people

Skooldio is an EdTech company in the Learn Corporation group that teaches digital and modern skills to working people: data, design, UX/UI, programming, technology, digital business and soft skills, through online courses, workshops and bootcamps. Its site says it was founded in 2017 (B.E. 2560) and has worked with more than 500 companies and more than 100,000 students; its homepage now leads with AI skills training for whole organisations. Its address is MBK Tower on Phayathai Road, Pathum Wan, Bangkok.
Lesson for founders: Skooldio sells to companies as well as to individual learners. In EdTech, corporate training budgets are often easier to win than consumer subscriptions.
Best for: founders in EdTech, corporate training and AI upskilling. See also our list of EdTech accelerators in Asia.

8. Investree Thailand: crowdfunding loans for SMEs

Investree Thailand describes itself as a licensed crowdfunding platform under the Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand that helps small and mid-sized businesses raise debt: companies issue crowdfunding debentures, repaid in one go or in instalments, and investors buy them through the platform. Its contact page gives its head office in the Yakult Building on Phahon Yothin Road, Phaya Thai, Bangkok. The old article described it as a micro-lending platform for personal borrowers with "an estimated 28% increase" in lending; its site describes SME debt crowdfunding and gives no such figure, so we removed it. Its site footer still reads 2019 and we found no recent deals on it, so check that the platform is still on the SEC's list of approved crowdfunding portals before you raise or invest through it.
Lesson for founders: in a regulated field, a licence is part of the product. Investree leads with its SEC approval because trust decides whether investors put money in.
Best for: founders in lending, crowdfunding and SME finance.

Where Bangkok Startups Get Support

  • True Digital Park: a tech and startup campus with offices, coworking, meeting rooms and event space on Sukhumvit Road in the Phra Khanong area, which describes itself as the largest tech and startup hub in ASEAN. Ascend Money has its head office there, and the park's site has help pages for the Destination Thailand Visa, the SMART S visa and the LTR visa.
  • National Innovation Agency (NIA): Thailand's public innovation agency. Its site lists financial support for innovation, certification of target companies for capital gains tax relief, a corporate co-funding mechanism and its StartUp Thailand activities.
  • SMART Visa: the Board of Investment's visa for experts, investors and startup founders in targeted industries. BOI's SMART Visa site says SMART S (startup) applicants need a deposit of at least 600,000 baht held for three months, health insurance, and must be a director or hold 25% of the shares in a company in a targeted industry that is already set up in Thailand; it allows a stay of up to four years without a separate work permit.
  • LTR Visa: the Long-Term Resident visa, also run by the BOI, for wealthy global citizens, wealthy pensioners, work-from-Thailand professionals and highly skilled professionals. It gives five years plus five more if you still qualify, a digital work permit, and a 17% personal income tax rate for highly skilled professionals. Since 17 March 2025 the BOI's Thailand Investment and Expat Services Center (TIESC) handles visas and work permits at One Bangkok.
  • Corporate investors: Thai groups back many of the companies on this list, as the investor names in their own histories show (C.P. Group in Ascend Money, Intouch and later GIC and LINE in LINE MAN Wongnai). For more options, see our guides to startup incubators in Asia and accelerators for AI startups.
We could not read the site of depa, the Digital Economy Promotion Agency, because it showed a bot check, so its programmes are not described here.

Bangkok Companies From the Old List That Changed or Were Removed

The 2026 version of this article listed ten companies. Here is what we found when we checked each one in November 2026:
  • Ascend Money and LINE MAN Wongnai: stay on the list, with corrected facts. LINE MAN Wongnai was not founded in 2020: Wongnai dates from 2010, and the merger with LINE MAN was announced in 2020. We left out Ascend Money's founding year, which its site does not give.
  • Investree Thailand: stays, described as its site describes it (SME debt crowdfunding), without the old growth figure.
  • RoboWealth: its website blocked our check, so we could not confirm that it still operates or where it is based, and removed it.
  • NestiFly: the old link now leads to a gambling page, and we found no company with this name.
  • Beam: Beam Mobility gives a Singapore address on its website and lists Thailand as one of seven markets, so it is not a Bangkok company.
  • DeepPocket, DataScale and SunSawang: we found no official website and no company matching the old descriptions, so we removed them and their figures.
  • Eatigo: the restaurant discount app still operates and lists an office in Bangkok, but also offices in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and the Philippines, its site is now copyrighted by Zoek, and it does not say its head office is in Bangkok. Its site says it has seated over 5 million diners at more than 4,000 venues and has been downloaded by more than 1.5 million users, not the "billions of customers" the old article claimed.

Which Bangkok Startup Should You Learn From?

Compare investors in our guide to early-stage VCs in Asia and EdTech VC firms. Women founders can also look at our lists of grants for women entrepreneurs in Asia and accelerators for female entrepreneurs, and meet regional investors at the startup events in Singapore.
Most of these companies win customers online, so visibility matters from day one. List your startup in the F/MS marketing directories, publish your startup press release, and write about your work with the F/MS AI SEO Tool or the AI SEO Blog so customers, investors and AI assistants can find you.
