Planoly vs MeetEdgar: Visual Planner or Evergreen Content Recycler for Your Startup?
Planoly and MeetEdgar both schedule social media posts for founders, creators and small teams, but they solve different problems. Planoly is a visual planner: you see your Instagram grid before you post, plan TikTok, Pinterest and LinkedIn on one calendar, and sell from a link-in-bio page. MeetEdgar is an evergreen content library: you write a post once, file it in a category, and Edgar keeps re-sharing it on a weekly schedule so your accounts never go quiet. We checked prices, trials, accounts, users and networks on planoly.com and meetedgar.com in November 2026, starting with the question most people ask: how do they compare on pricing?
Quick answer: on annual billing Planoly is cheaper for one person: $14 a month for 1 user and 1 social set, $24 for 2 users and 2 sets. MeetEdgar costs $24.91 a month ($299 a year) for 5 accounts or $41.58 a month ($499 a year) for 25 accounts, and every plan includes 20 team members. Pick Planoly if your business lives on Instagram, TikTok and Pinterest and the look of your feed sells for you. Pick MeetEdgar if you have a library of blog posts, tips and offers you want shared again and again on X, LinkedIn, Facebook, Google Business Profile and Bluesky. Planoly has a 14-day trial and a small free plan in its mobile app; MeetEdgar has no free plan but a 30-day trial.

Planoly vs MeetEdgar Pricing Compared
Sources: planoly.com/pricing and meetedgar.com/pricing, default view (annual billing, US dollars, before tax), plus each vendor's feature and platform pages, checked 3 November 2026. Both sell monthly billing at a higher rate; those prices sit behind a toggle, so we leave them out.
The chart shows the trap in comparing headline prices: Planoly charges for each extra user and social set, MeetEdgar for each extra account but never for people. A solo founder with one brand pays least on Planoly Starter. A team of three on one brand pays $29 a month on Planoly Growth (one extra user at $5) and $24.91 on MeetEdgar Eddie. An agency or a founder with several brands gets 6 sets and 6 users for $47 on Planoly Pro, or 25 accounts and 20 people for $41.58 on MeetEdgar Edgar.
Planoly: Visual Planning for Instagram, TikTok and Pinterest
Planoly calls itself the social media planner that goes beyond scheduling, and its pricing page says it invented grid planning. You upload photos and videos to a media library, drag them into a calendar, preview how your Instagram grid will look and rearrange until it is right. The calendar also flags holidays, pop culture moments and trending video formats, and an AI idea generator suggests posts, captions and keywords.
Publishing: according to Planoly's auto-post page, it publishes automatically to Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, Threads, LinkedIn and Pinterest, while X gets a reminder to post by hand. Reels and TikTok videos auto-post when they use original audio; if you want music from Instagram's library, Planoly sends a push notification with your caption ready to paste. You can drop placeholders into the calendar, batch-schedule a week or a month, and import designs from Canva.
Plans (checked November 2026, billed annually):
- Free: the Planoly mobile app, with 10 uploads a month.
- Starter, $14 a month: 1 social set, 1 user, unlimited uploads. You cannot add users or sets; for that you move to Growth.
- Growth, $24 a month: 2 social sets and 2 users, $10 a month for each extra set and $5 for each extra user. Planoly calls it best for small teams.
- Pro, $47 a month: 6 social sets and 6 users, $8 per extra set and $3 per extra user, aimed at agencies.
- On every plan: a free Link in Bio page that sells digital products, services, bookings and merch with zero transaction fees, plus Instagram auto DMs that reply to keywords in comments and messages. All paid plans start with a 14-day free trial, and annual plans save up to 15% and are billed upfront.
A social set means one account on each network Planoly supports: Instagram, Facebook, X, Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube, Threads and TikTok. So Starter covers one brand on all of them, which is generous for a solo founder.
AI agents: Planoly also runs an MCP connector so Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini can draft posts, pull Instagram analytics and schedule drafts in your Planoly workspace, asking you to confirm before anything is published or deleted. That is useful if you already write content with an AI assistant and want it on the calendar without copying and pasting.

MeetEdgar: An Evergreen Library That Keeps Posting for You
MeetEdgar (Edgar for short) is a social media scheduler for entrepreneurs, freelancers, coaches and small teams, run by SureSwift Worldwide. Its idea is different from a calendar: according to its content management page, you build an unlimited library of posts, sort them into categories such as tips, blog posts or offers, and set weekly time slots for each category. Edgar fills the slots automatically, and when new posts run out it re-shares older ones, so your accounts stay active while you work on the product.
You can import posts from any RSS feed, so every new blog article lands in the library, and generate several variations of one update so a recycled post does not look the same every time. The Inky AI assistant writes captions and hashtags in the tone you pick. On the platforms page MeetEdgar lists Facebook, Instagram (images, carousels, Reels and Stories), TikTok, LinkedIn profiles and company pages, Pinterest, X, Google Business Profile, Threads, YouTube Shorts and Bluesky, plus a Chrome extension and connections to Canva, Zapier, Bitly, Rebrandly and Shopify.
Plans (checked November 2026, billed annually):
- Eddie, $24.91 a month ($299 a year): 5 social accounts, 10 weekly automations, 4 content categories, 15 Inky credits a month, extra accounts $3.99 each. No Social Inbox. MeetEdgar pitches it at freelancers and entrepreneurs.
- Edgar, $41.58 a month ($499 a year): 25 accounts, 1,000 weekly automations, unlimited categories, the Social Inbox, 50 Inky credits and extra accounts at $1.99 each.
- On both plans: 20 team members, unlimited scheduled posts and a 30-day free trial with every feature. There is no free plan, and the card you enter is charged automatically when the trial ends unless you cancel first.
- Extras and discounts: 100 more Inky credits cost $2.50, credits reset every 30 days, and nonprofits, charities, military and veteran families get 10% off.
Analytics: the analytics page describes a dashboard with content sent, link clicks and impressions, UTM tags on Edgar's short links, and a weekly report every Sunday with posts published, category performance and follower changes. It is built to tell you which categories work, not to replace a full social listening suite.

Planoly vs MeetEdgar: Feature by Feature
Planning and scheduling
Planoly is calendar-first and visual: you see each post, the grid and the month, then schedule. MeetEdgar is queue-first: you fill categories once and the weekly schedule pulls from them. If you post new photos and videos every week, Planoly matches how you work. If you have 50 good posts and want each one shared every few weeks, MeetEdgar saves the most time.
Networks
Both cover Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Threads and YouTube. MeetEdgar adds Google Business Profile and Bluesky and auto-posts to X; Planoly only sends reminders for X. For a local business that wants Google updates, or a founder building on X and Bluesky, that settles it in MeetEdgar's favour.
Users and accounts
MeetEdgar includes 20 team members on both plans, so a co-founder, a freelancer and an assistant cost nothing extra. Planoly counts users per plan: 1 on Starter, 2 on Growth and 6 on Pro, then $5 or $3 each. Planoly's social set is generous, though: one set covers a brand on 8 networks, while MeetEdgar counts every account separately.
AI features
Planoly's AI suggests ideas, captions and keywords on every plan and its MCP connector lets an AI assistant run the calendar. MeetEdgar's Inky writes captions and hashtags, limited to 15 or 50 credits a month. Both work fine for captions; Planoly goes further if you plan with an AI assistant.
Selling and engagement
Planoly turns the link in your bio into a storefront for digital products, services and bookings with zero transaction fees, and answers Instagram comments and DMs by keyword. MeetEdgar has no storefront; its Social Inbox, on the Edgar plan only, collects replies in one place. Creators who sell from Instagram get more from Planoly.
What Changed Since the 2026 Version of This Comparison
- Planoly prices: the old text said Planoly starts at $25 a month with custom enterprise pricing. The pricing page now starts at $14 a month on annual billing, and Pro at $47 is the top plan; there is no enterprise tier on the page.
- Planoly networks: the old claim that Planoly is "specialized" while MeetEdgar handles many channels no longer holds: Planoly now auto-posts to 7 networks, with X by reminder.
- Planoly LinkIt: the link gallery is now called Link in Bio and doubles as a storefront with zero transaction fees.
- MeetEdgar prices: still $299 a year ($24.91 a month) for Eddie; Edgar costs $499 a year, every plan includes 20 team members, and the trial is 30 days.
- New on both: Planoly's AI idea generator and MCP connector; MeetEdgar's Inky AI with monthly credits, Bluesky, Threads and YouTube Shorts.
- Removed: third-party review links, the generic "common mistakes" section and unsourced feature claims.
Planoly or MeetEdgar: Which Should You Choose?
- You are a solo founder or creator on Instagram, TikTok and Pinterest: Planoly Starter at $14 a month, or its free mobile plan to try the grid.
- You sell digital products or coaching from your Instagram bio: Planoly, for the Link in Bio storefront and auto DMs.
- You publish blog posts, podcasts or tips you want shared again and again: MeetEdgar Eddie at $24.91 a month.
- You post on X, LinkedIn, Google Business Profile or Bluesky: MeetEdgar, which auto-posts to all four.
- You are a team of 3 or more on one brand: MeetEdgar, because people are free up to 20; Planoly Growth costs $5 a month for each user after two.
- You run several brands or clients: Planoly Pro (6 sets, 6 users, $47) for visual brands, MeetEdgar Edgar (25 accounts, $41.58) for text-heavy ones.
- You need listening, approvals and reports for a bigger team: neither; compare Hootsuite vs CoSchedule and Sprout Social vs Later.
Looking to Switch From Planoly, or for MeetEdgar Alternatives?
If you are leaving Planoly because you need evergreen recycling or more networks, MeetEdgar is the natural move, and the reverse is true if you miss a visual grid. If neither fits, our free Hootsuite alternatives list covers schedulers with real free plans, and the open-source Buffer alternatives can be hosted on your own server. How Founders Use Planoly or MeetEdgar to Get Customers
A scheduler only pays off when the posts lead somewhere. Pick two or three networks where your customers spend time, plan a month around one launch or one problem you solve, and check each week which posts brought clicks and messages. Our guide to social media content calendars shows how to plan that month, and the social media management guide for startups covers the weekly routine.
Visual tools need visuals: make post graphics with one of the free Canva Pro alternatives, answer DMs with the bots in ManyChat vs Chatfuel, and move followers into email with the tools in Autopilot vs MailerLite. Before you spend money on promotion, validate your startup idea.
MeetEdgar works best with a steady stream of articles to recycle. The F/MS AI SEO Tool writes articles from your keywords that are built to rank on Google and to be cited by ChatGPT and Perplexity; feed them into Edgar through RSS and every post keeps working for months. F/MS Marketing Services help you get backlinks and guest posts that build your authority.
