Open-Source Salesforce Einstein Alternatives (2027): 9 AI CRMs and Agent Platforms You Can Self-Host, Now That Einstein Is Agentforce

Open-source Salesforce Einstein alternatives 2027: AI CRMs and agent platforms you can self-host

Open-Source Salesforce Einstein Alternatives: AI CRMs and Agent Platforms You Can Host Yourself

Salesforce Einstein was the AI layer inside Salesforce CRM: lead scoring, forecasts and generated emails. Today Salesforce sells its AI as Agentforce, priced per conversation, per credit or per user on top of your CRM licence. If you are an early-stage founder, you can get much of the same value from open source: a CRM you host yourself, plus an AI agent platform that reads and updates it. We checked every tool below on its official website and GitHub in October 2026: the exact licence, the latest release and which AI features really exist. Tools from the old version of this list that are archived, not open source or simply not CRM tools are listed separately at the end.
Quick answer: for a modern open-source CRM with AI agents and an MCP server, use Twenty; for a simple self-hosted CRM where you plug in your own AI model, use Krayin or EspoCRM; for CRM plus invoicing, inventory and the rest of the back office, use Odoo Community (its AI app needs Enterprise); and to build Einstein-style AI on top of any CRM, connect it to Dify, n8n or Activepieces, or write your own agents with LangChain and LangGraph.

What Happened to Salesforce Einstein in 2027?

Salesforce has moved its AI branding to Agentforce. When we checked in October 2026, the old Einstein product pages on salesforce.com redirected to the Salesforce AI page, which describes Agentforce as Salesforce's product for building and running AI agents and does not mention Einstein at all. The Agentforce pricing page lists Flex Credits at $500 per 100,000 credits (you pay per action), $2 per conversation, and Agentforce add-ons for Sales or Service at $125 per user per month, on top of your Salesforce licence. A free Salesforce Foundations tier gives access to the builder tools. So an open-source alternative has two parts: a CRM you control, and an AI layer you choose. That is how this list is organised.

Open-Source CRMs With AI Features

1. Twenty: the open-source CRM built for AI agents

Twenty calls itself the number one open-source CRM on GitHub, where it has around 60,000 stars and ships new releases every few days (version 2.52.0 came out on 27 October 2026). It gives you companies, people, opportunities and tasks in a fast, spreadsheet-like interface, plus no-code workflows and an API. On the AI side, Twenty lists an AI chat, AI agents inside workflows, and a native MCP server in every cloud workspace, so assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor can read and write CRM data in plain language. Developers can build their own AI skills and agents in TypeScript. The licence is mostly AGPLv3, but files marked as Enterprise are under a commercial licence and some developer packages are MIT. Twenty says self-hosting the open-source core is free; its cloud plans cost $9 (Pro) and $39 (Organization) per user per month billed yearly, with AI usage limits per member.

2. Odoo Community: CRM plus the rest of your back office

Odoo is a full business suite (CRM, sales, invoicing, inventory, website and more), and its Community edition is published under the LGPLv3. Odoo 20 is the current version. The Community CRM includes predictive lead scoring: a machine-learning model (naive Bayes) that uses your own won and lost deals to estimate each new lead's chance of closing, which is close to what Einstein lead scoring did. Odoo's newer AI app adds Ask AI, AI agents, AI fields, AI live chat and AI in email templates, but we could not find it in the Community source code on GitHub, so plan on Odoo Enterprise or Odoo Online if you need it. Choose Odoo if you want one system for customers, quotes and invoices; for AI on Community, connect it to n8n or Activepieces, which both have Odoo integrations.

3. EspoCRM: a lightweight CRM you can open to AI agents

EspoCRM is an AGPLv3 CRM written in PHP that runs on ordinary hosting, with leads, accounts, a sales pipeline, email, calendar and reports. Version 10.0.11 came out on 23 October 2026. Its homepage now says you can manage your CRM simply by asking your AI, and two extensions make that work. The MCP extension is free under the AGPLv3 and turns EspoCRM into an MCP server, so AI agents can read and change CRM records through the tools you allow. The separate Intelligence extension adds AI summaries, intelligent paste (it extracts data from pasted text into fields), an AI email composer and AI formula functions, and works with OpenAI, Gemini, Claude or any OpenAI-compatible model. It is sold through EspoCRM's store, and its page does not show a price.

4. Krayin: an MIT-licensed Laravel CRM with Magic AI

Krayin CRM calls itself a free and open-source self-hosted CRM built on Laravel, and its GitHub README confirms the MIT licence, the most permissive one on this list. It covers leads, pipelines, contacts, quotes, email and activities. Its built-in Magic AI feature works with an OpenRouter API key, so you choose the model, from GPT-4o and Gemini to Llama and DeepSeek, and a document feature extracts data from uploaded files to create records. Version 2.2.7 came out on 16 October 2026. If you do not want to run a server, Krayin's homepage advertised managed hosting at $20 a month with unlimited users in October 2026.

5. SuiteCRM: the classic open-source CRM, AI through integrations

SuiteCRM is a long-running AGPLv3 CRM with sales, marketing, case management, workflows and a REST API. It is still maintained: version 8.10.2 (with 7.15.2 for the older line) was a security and maintenance release. Its website does not describe any built-in AI features, so SuiteCRM fits teams that want a mature, familiar CRM and plan to add AI through an agent platform below.

Open-Source AI Agent Platforms to Wire Into Your CRM

Einstein's real value was AI working on CRM data: scoring leads, drafting follow-ups, summarising accounts. These platforms let you build that on top of any CRM with an API, using the AI model you choose.

6. Dify: build AI agents and knowledge bases visually

Dify describes itself as a platform for production-ready agentic workflows. You build agents and RAG pipelines (AI that answers from your documents) in a visual studio, connect almost any model, and publish apps as MCP-compatible tools. A startup can, for example, build an assistant that answers sales questions from product docs and writes notes back to the CRM through an API call. Read the Dify licence: it is a modified Apache 2.0 that forbids running Dify as a multi-tenant service without permission and removing its logo from the frontend, so it is source-available with conditions rather than fully open source. The self-hosted Community edition is free; in the cloud, the Sandbox plan is free with 200 message credits, and Professional costs $590 per workspace per year. Version 1.18.0 came out on 23 October 2026.

7. n8n: workflow automation with AI agents (fair-code)

n8n is a workflow automation tool with an AI Agent node, MCP client and server support and human approval for tool calls. It has ready-made integrations for CRMs such as Odoo and Salesforce, and an HTTP node for any other API, so you can score new leads with an AI model, enrich them and post a summary to your team. Be precise about the licence: n8n is fair-code, not open source. Its Sustainable Use License lets you self-host and modify it for your own internal business use, but not resell it as a service, and enterprise files need a paid licence. The cloud plans start at €20 a month (Starter, billed annually). Version 2.45.6 was released on 29 October 2026.

8. Activepieces: an MIT-licensed alternative to n8n with AI agents

Activepieces does the same job as n8n but with an MIT-licensed core (enterprise folders are separate). Its homepage lists more than 770 open-source integrations, called pieces, including Twenty, Odoo and Salesforce. Its AI agents pick the right tools from your connected apps and MCP servers, you can require approval before sensitive steps such as changing customer data, and Claude or Cursor can run your flows through its MCP server. It runs on Docker or Kubernetes on your own servers.

9. LangChain and LangGraph: write your own CRM agents in code

LangChain and LangGraph are MIT-licensed libraries for developers. LangChain connects to almost any model provider and tool; LangGraph is an agent runtime and orchestration framework with memory and steps where a person approves the agent's actions. Use them when no-code tools are too limited, for example an agent that researches a new lead, scores it against your ideal customer profile and drafts the first email for a human to approve. LangSmith, the company's platform for tracing and evaluating agents, is a separate commercial product. LangGraph 1.2.18 came out on 26 October 2026.

Einstein Alternatives That Are Discontinued, Not Open Source or Not a Fit

The 2025 version of this article included several tools that do not belong on an open-source CRM AI shortlist:
  • Flowise: the visual AI agent builder was archived. Its maintainers froze development on 29 July 2026, archived the GitHub repository on 13 August 2026 and ended official support on 31 August 2026. The Apache 2.0 code stays online for forks. Use Dify, n8n or Activepieces instead.
  • C3 AI CRM: C3 AI sells proprietary enterprise AI applications. It is not open source and not built for startups.
  • AI SDR-Kit: its old page is now an article on the website of Composio, a commercial tool-integration platform. We found no standalone open-source project to recommend.
  • Fabric: an MIT-licensed command-line framework of reusable AI prompts. Useful for personal productivity, but it is not a CRM or a CRM AI layer.
  • OpenSora (Open-Sora): an open-source video generation model, not a platform for business or CRM AI.
  • OpenHands: an MIT-licensed platform for AI coding agents. It can help a developer write your CRM integration, but it does not replace Einstein. We compare coding agents in our open-source GitHub Copilot alternatives.
  • Vtiger: its open-source edition still exists under the Vtiger Public License, but its website blocked our checks and we could not confirm that any of its AI features are part of the open-source edition, so it is not in the main list.

Which Open-Source Salesforce Einstein Alternative Should You Choose?

  • You want a modern CRM that AI assistants can use directly: Twenty, self-hosted or on its cloud with the built-in MCP server.
  • You want a cheap, simple CRM with AI and your own model: Krayin (MIT, Magic AI) or EspoCRM with its free MCP extension.
  • You want lead scoring without paying for AI: Odoo Community's predictive lead scoring learns from your own won and lost deals.
  • You need CRM plus invoicing and inventory: Odoo, adding Enterprise only if you need its AI app.
  • You already have a CRM and want Einstein-style automation: Activepieces (MIT) or n8n (fair-code) with an AI agent step.
  • You want a support or sales assistant that answers from your documents: Dify.
  • You have developers and specific needs: LangChain and LangGraph.
