Serpstat vs Mangools (2027): All-in-One SEO Platform or Simple Keyword Research Bundle for Startups?

Serpstat vs Mangools: All-in-One SEO Platform or Simple Keyword Research Bundle?

Serpstat and Mangools both help a startup find keywords, check who ranks and track positions on Google, but they are built for different people. Serpstat is an all-in-one SEO platform: keyword research for Google and Bing, paid search data, a rank tracker with daily checks, a site audit crawler, backlink analysis and, on its team plans, an API and AI visibility checks. Mangools is a bundle of five simple research tools led by KWFinder, plus an AI search tracker, with a free plan and the lowest entry price of the two. We checked both pricing pages, plan limits, free options and the tools themselves on the official websites in October 2026.
Quick answer: choose Mangools if you are a solo founder who mostly needs keyword ideas and a quick look at who ranks: it has a free plan, and Mangools Basic costs €37.70 a month on yearly billing with API access and AI search tracking included. Choose Serpstat if you also need a site audit, daily rank tracking, Bing or pay-per-click data: Serpstat Individual costs $50 a month on yearly billing ($600 upfront) after a 7-day trial. If your team needs several users, an API or AI visibility checks in Serpstat, the plan to compare is Team at $100 a month, billed yearly.

Serpstat and Mangools in 2027: What Each One Does

Serpstat: one platform for research, tracking and audits

Serpstat was built by the agency Netpeak in 2013 and has been independent, as part of Fractal, since 2015. You enter a domain, keyword or URL, choose Google or Bing and a country, and get its keywords, competitors, ads and backlinks. Its keyword research tool shows search volume, keyword difficulty, CPC, search intent and whether an AI Overview appears for the keyword; a free checker on that page lets you test a few keywords before you sign up, and suggests a limit of 10 lookups a day. A keyword clustering tool groups up to 50,000 keywords by how similar their search results are, which helps plan one page per topic.

Serpstat: one search box for domains, keywords and URLs
The Serpstat Rank Tracker checks the top 100 results in 230 Google regions, down to state or city, on desktop and mobile, with a schedule you set. It tracks paid ad positions and Google AI Overview results as well as organic rankings, and you can add any number of competitors to a project at no extra charge. Your plan gives you a monthly number of position checks rather than a fixed keyword list.
  • Individual, $50 a month billed yearly ($600 upfront): 5 projects, 100 searches for sites, keywords and links a day, 10,000 position checks a month, 30,000 pages to audit (up to 5,000 per scan, without JavaScript rendering), 50,000 export rows and the core tools. One user, no API and no AI Visibility.
  • What 10,000 checks buy: by our own calculation, about 330 keywords checked every day, or about 2,300 keywords checked once a week.
  • Team, $100 a month billed yearly ($1,200 upfront): unlimited projects, 500 searches a day, 50,000 position checks, 150,000 audit pages, 3 users, 200,000 API credits, ChatGPT and Claude integration (MCP), AI tools, batch analysis, scheduled reports and 1,500 AI Visibility checks a month.
  • Team x2 ($169) and Agency ($410), billed yearly: more searches, checks and users; Agency adds white-label reports and 30 users.
  • AI Visibility, formerly LLM Brand Monitor, shows how ChatGPT, Grok, Gemini and other AI models mention your brand. Extra checks cost $20 per 1,000, with a minimum top-up of $40.
  • Trial: a free 7-day trial of Individual or Team. You enter a card, Serpstat charges $1 to verify it and returns it, and the plan renews automatically after 7 days unless you cancel. Monthly billing is also offered; see the Serpstat pricing page.

One version of the pricing page that we loaded started at Team and said "save up to 22%", while the page code listed Individual and "save up to 27%". If you do not see Individual, ask Serpstat before you buy.
Best for: founders and small marketing teams who want keyword research, daily tracking, a technical audit and competitor ads in one login, and who are fine with a learning curve.

Mangools: five simple tools and an AI search tracker in one bundle

Mangools sells one bundle; the Mangools FAQ says its tools are not sold separately because they depend on each other, for example the keyword difficulty score in KWFinder needs SERPChecker data. KWFinder finds long-tail keywords with low SEO difficulty: you search by keyword or by a competitor's domain, pick a location and a language, and get exact search volumes with their history and trends. Mangools counts 2.5 billion related keywords and about 65,000 locations, from countries down to cities.

KWFinder, the keyword tool at the heart of Mangools
  • SERPChecker shows the local search results for a keyword with more than 45 SEO metrics per result and the SERP features that take clicks.
  • SERPWatcher tracks your rankings on desktop and mobile with a Performance Index, email alerts and shareable reports. Updates are weekly, and daily only on the Agency plan.
  • LinkMiner finds a competitor's backlinks using Majestic's fresh and historic index, and SiteProfiler shows a domain's authority metrics, top content and similar websites.
  • AI Search Watcher checks how ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini, Claude, Grok, Mistral and Llama mention your brand and your competitors. Every paid plan includes the PRO version with 500 prompts, unlimited monitors and 2 checks per prompt.
  • Free plan: no credit card; 5 lookups per 24 hours with 15 related and 5 competitor keywords per lookup.
  • Basic, €37.70 a month billed yearly (€452.40 a year, against €732.00 on monthly billing): 100 keyword lookups and 100 SERP lookups per 24 hours, 200 suggestions per search, 200 tracked keywords updated weekly, 100,000 backlink rows a month, 20 site analyses a day and no extra seats.
  • Premium (€52.70) and Agency (€97.70), billed yearly: 500 or 1,200 lookups a day, unlimited suggestions, 700 or 1,500 tracked keywords (weekly on Premium, daily on Agency), 500,000 or 1.2 million backlink rows and 3 or 5 extra seats.
  • API and MCP access are included in every plan, and Mangools says yearly billing saves about 35%. A full refund is available within 48 hours of payment, though not for two subscriptions in a row. See the Mangools pricing page.

Serpstat vs Mangools: Feature by Feature

  • Keyword research: a tie on volume. Both entry plans give 100 searches a day. Mangools is quicker to read and has historical volumes on every keyword; Serpstat adds Bing, search intent, PPC data and keyword clustering.
  • Competitor research: Serpstat goes deeper, with a competitor's organic keywords, ads and backlinks in one report. Mangools covers the same ground across KWFinder's search by domain, SiteProfiler and LinkMiner.
  • Rank tracking: Serpstat wins for small teams that publish often. Its 10,000 monthly checks allow daily updates for a few hundred keywords; Mangools Basic tracks 200 keywords once a week.
  • Site audit: only Serpstat has a crawler that finds technical problems. With Mangools you need a separate tool, or the free reports in Google Search Console.
  • AI search visibility: Mangools is better value here, with AI Search Watcher PRO in every plan; at Serpstat, AI Visibility starts on the $100 Team plan.
  • Ease of use: Mangools is the simpler of the two. Serpstat has more reports and settings, which is powerful but takes longer to learn.

Which One Should You Choose?

Pick in 5 questions: need it free first, Bing or PPC data, site audit needed, daily rankings, team or API
Serpstat or Mangools: five questions that decide it.
  • You are validating an idea or writing your first 10 articles: Mangools. Start on the free plan and move to Basic when 5 lookups a day are not enough.
  • You need a site audit and daily rankings in one tool: Serpstat Individual. At $50 a month on yearly billing it costs a little more than Mangools Basic, but it covers keyword research, daily tracking and a technical audit in one subscription.
  • You run Google Ads or sell in markets where people use Bing: Serpstat. It shows competitors' ads and paid rankings.
  • You care about being mentioned by ChatGPT and other AI assistants: Mangools, unless you are paying for Serpstat Team anyway.
  • Two or three people will use it, or you want an API: compare Mangools Premium (€52.70, 3 extra seats) with Serpstat Team ($100, 3 users).

What Changed Since the Old Version of This Comparison

  • Prices were wrong. The old article said Serpstat starts at $69 a month and Mangools at $49. On the default yearly view of each pricing page, Serpstat Individual is $50 a month and Mangools Basic €37.70 a month.
  • Both tools added AI search tracking. Serpstat's LLM Brand Monitor became AI Visibility in its Team and Agency plans; Mangools added AI Search Watcher PRO to every plan.
  • Mangools now includes API and MCP access in all plans; Serpstat offers API and MCP from Team up.
  • Removed: a "5.6 billion keywords" claim (Serpstat's own pages now give different database figures), links to third-party review sites and a generic list of SEO mistakes.

How Founders Use Serpstat, Mangools and Other SEO Tools

Most early-stage startups need a short list of 20 to 50 keywords their customers type, one useful page for each and a weekly look at what moved. Our guides to finding long-tail keywords and checking competitor keywords show the method with any tool. If you want to spend nothing at first, see our lists of free keyword planner tools and free rank trackers, and Keyword Tool vs Google Keyword Planner for Google's own data.

Keyword research only pays off when you publish. The F/MS AI SEO Tool turns your keywords into articles written to rank on Google and to be cited by AI assistants, and the AI SEO blog has more how-tos. Search demand is also a cheap test of an idea: if nobody searches for the problem you solve, validate your startup idea with real customers before you build.
