If you fund your company from your own savings and revenue, most startup conferences are not built for you: they are about pitching investors. These are the ten best events of 2027 for bootstrapped and self-funded founders, from Wiesbaden, London, Málaga, Bansko and Dubrovnik to Austin, Mexico City, Boise, Playa del Carmen and Bangkok.
Very few events are made only for bootstrappers, so we picked those first (MicroConf, the Dynamite Circle conferences and ECF Live) and added the founder, creator and small-business events where self-funded founders are the core of the room. We checked every date on the organiser's own website and mark each one as Confirmed (date on the official site), Announced (reliable second source only) or Expected (based on past editions only). All ten below are Confirmed for 2027.

The 10 best bootstrapping events of 2027
1. ECF Live: 26–28 January 2027, Playa del Carmen
ECF Live is the yearly meeting of eComFuel, a paid community for owners of profitable, owner-run online stores; the average attendee's store makes about $5 million a year. To join, you must own at least 25% of a qualifying business, so this is a peer event for founders who already have revenue, not a place to start. 2. The Founder Summit: 3–4 April 2027, Wiesbaden
The Founder Summit is a big, cheap festival for German-speaking founders and small-business owners: the organiser counts 20,000 visitors, 16 stages and 120+ speakers. It is not a bootstrapper event as such, but most of the room funds its business itself. If you want to test investor interest, four founders pitch on stage for up to €250,000 and the audience picks the winner. See our guide to startup events in Germany.
3. DCMEX: 6–9 April 2027, Mexico City
The Dynamite Circle is a private community of location-independent founders that only accepts business owners making at least $100,000 a year, and it calls itself bootstrapped-only. DCMEX is its sixth gathering in Mexico. You apply to the community first (requirements), then buy a ticket.
4. MicroConf US: 18–20 April 2027, Austin
MicroConf calls itself the original conference for bootstrapped businesses, and it is still the best one. Speakers named so far are Rob Walling, Nick Francis of Help Scout, Jason Cohen of WP Engine, Ramli John, Anthony Pierri and Joanna Wiebe of Copyhackers. 5. Top Founder Summit Europe: 24–26 May 2027, London
This is what SaaStock Europe became: SaaStock's own site says Founderpath has acquired it and is rebranding it as Top Founders Summit. Founderpath lends non-dilutive, revenue-based capital to software companies, so this is the place to compare revenue financing with equity. Founderpath's own events directory also lists a smaller London edition on 8–10 May 2027, so check the date before you book travel. 6. WordCamp Europe: 27–29 May 2027, Málaga
Many of Europe's most successful self-funded software businesses sell WordPress plugins and themes, and WordCamp Europe is where their founders, partners and customers meet every year. It is run by volunteers, so it is a community event rather than a startup show. See our guide to startup events in Spain.
7. Craft + Commerce: 9–12 June 2027, Boise
Craft + Commerce is run by Kit (formerly ConvertKit) for creators who turned an audience into a business: bloggers, makers, podcasters and course creators. Most of them run one-person businesses with no outside money, which makes it one of the best rooms for learning how to sell without a sales team.
8. Bansko Nomad Fest: 20–27 June 2027, Bansko
Bansko Nomad Fest is a week of talks on tech, entrepreneurship and remote work in a Bulgarian mountain town with low living costs. It suits founders who run small online businesses from anywhere, and the park events include pitching sessions alongside the social programme.
9. MicroConf Europe: 3–5 October 2027, Dubrovnik
MicroConf Europe is the only conference in Europe built purely for self-funded SaaS founders. With about 200 people, you can talk to every speaker, and the organisers say 56% of attendees are first-timers. Speakers have not been announced yet.
10. DCBKK: 19–23 October 2027, Bangkok
DCBKK is the largest and longest-running event in the Dynamite Circle calendar, a meeting of location-independent founders who built their businesses without investors. Tickets are released inside the members' forum, so you need to be accepted into the community first.

- Business of Software Europe says April 2027 but gives no day or venue; Business of Software USA has no 2027 date.
- Running Remote (last edition 27–29 April 2026, Austin), Web Summit and its ALPHA programme for early startups, and The Business Show in London have no 2027 dates yet.
- SaaStock Local meetups and the Bootstrappers Breakfast roundtables run all year, but list no 2027 dates.
- We found no 2027 women-founder event with a self-funded track. If you run one, send it to us.
Why bootstrapping matters: the numbers
- 77.8% of European startup founders put some or all of their savings into the business, far more than used business angels (29.0%) or venture capital (26.3%), according to the EU Startup Monitor 2018 (the latest edition with this question).
- In 2024, 28% of US women-owned firms that did not apply for financing named debt aversion as the main reason, and about a quarter of firms had used their own funds in the past 12 months, according to the Federal Reserve.
- All-female founding teams in Europe raised just €814 million in 2024, against €38.3 billion for all-male teams, according to PitchBook data reported by Maddyness. For many women founders, revenue is the most reliable funding there is.

How to choose a bootstrapping event
- Check the entry rules. The Dynamite Circle events need $100,000+ yearly revenue and membership, and ECF Live needs a 7-figure store; MicroConf, The Founder Summit, Craft + Commerce and Bansko Nomad Fest are open to anyone with a ticket.
- Pick the room that matches your business. MicroConf and Top Founder Summit are for software, ECF Live and the e-commerce expos are for online stores, Craft + Commerce is for creators, and WordCamp Europe is for WordPress products.
- Count the whole trip. The cheapest tickets are The Founder Summit, Top Founder Summit (£197) and the free Small Business Expo; MicroConf costs $1,229 or €1,249 before the hotel.
- Ask about revenue-based finance. If you want growth money without giving up equity, Founderpath runs Top Founder Summit, and MicroConf runs the TinySeed accelerator for bootstrappers.
- Buy early. MicroConf Europe, Craft + Commerce and Bansko Nomad Fest sell early-bird tickets now, and DCBKK says its price may rise.

No. DCMEX, DCBCN and DCBKK are for Dynamite Circle members, and members must be founders with at least $100,000 in yearly revenue who pass an application review. Membership costs $697 a year.
