AccuRanker vs Rank Tracker: Cloud Rank Tracking or Desktop Software for Your Startup?
AccuRanker and Rank Tracker both answer the question every founder with a website asks: where do my pages rank on Google, and did they move this week? They answer it in very different ways. AccuRanker, from Aarhus in Denmark, is a cloud rank tracker for agencies and enterprises: you log in from any browser, it updates every keyword daily, and you pay by the number of keywords, starting at 2,000. Rank Tracker, made by Link-Assistant.Com as part of SEO PowerSuite, is desktop software for Windows, macOS and Linux: you install it on your computer, track as many keywords as you like, and pay a yearly licence. We checked both tools' official pricing and feature pages in October 2026: plans and prices as each page shows them by default, free options, update frequency, search engines and AI features.
Quick answer: for most early-stage startups, Rank Tracker is the better value: the free version lets you test it, and Rank Tracker Professional costs €179 a year for unlimited keywords, scheduled checks and 5 competitors per project. Choose AccuRanker when you need a shared online dashboard for a team or for clients, unlimited users, refreshes every two hours and an API, and when you track 2,000 keywords or more; its entry plan costs €224 a month billed yearly, and it has no free trial, only a 14-day refund.

AccuRanker and Rank Tracker in 2027: What Each One Offers
AccuRanker: fast cloud rank tracking for agencies, plus LLM visibility
AccuRanker calls itself rank tracking and LLM visibility for agencies and enterprises. It launched in March 2013 and is based in Aarhus, Denmark. Its rank tracking delivers daily updates of rankings, SERP features and click-through rates, and when something needs checking right away you can refresh a single keyword or your whole domain every two hours. It shows your pixel position (above or below the fold) and an AI Share of Voice, and AccuRanker says it tracks millions of keywords across hundreds of domains without slowing down. Because it runs in the cloud, everyone on your team or your client's team can log in, and all current plans include unlimited users.
- Professional, €224 a month billed yearly for 2,000 keywords: "ideal for freelancers, consultants, and small agencies". Daily updates, keyword research, search intent, tagging, advanced filtering, Google Search Console and Analytics, reporting and export. More keywords are available on the same plan.
- Expert, €764 a month billed yearly for 10,000 keywords (up to 25,000): adds dynamic tagging, Tag Cloud, AI CTR, AccuRanker Search Volume, Google Data Studio (Looker Studio) and an unlimited read API.
- Enterprise, above 25,000 keywords: priced on request, with Google BigQuery, an unlimited write API, raw SERP HTML, enhanced speed and a dedicated customer success manager.
- Billing: the AccuRanker pricing page opens on yearly billing; AccuRanker says annual payment gives a 10% discount, so monthly billing costs more. You can upgrade, downgrade or cancel at no cost.
- No free trial: the buttons say Buy now or Request a demo, and the old free-trial address now opens the demo page. AccuRanker offers a 14-day refund from the initial purchase.
- AI features: AccuLLM tracks how your brand appears in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, with sentiment, cited sources and competitors; it has its own plans. AccuRanker MCP lets you open your SEO data inside AI assistants.
Best for: SEO agencies and in-house teams that track thousands of keywords for many sites or markets, report to clients every week and want every colleague to have access without installing anything.

Rank Tracker by SEO PowerSuite: unlimited keywords on your own computer
Rank Tracker is one of the four desktop apps in SEO PowerSuite, next to WebSite Auditor, SEO SpyGlass and LinkAssistant. You download it for Windows, macOS or Linux, and Link-Assistant says it serves around 20,000 users a month. Its promise is "check keyword positions without limits": you pay for features, not for the size of your keyword list, so a startup can track every keyword it cares about from the first day.
- Many search engines: Google (including Maps, featured snippets and ads), Bing, Yahoo, YouTube, Naver, Yandex and Baidu. The Rank Tracker page says over 597 search engines; the pricing page uses a rounder 400+.
- Deep and local checks: desktop or mobile rankings for a country, state, city or exact street address, scanning the top 10, top 50 or up to the top 1,000 results.
- History and competitors: it saves the top 30 results with every check and keeps ranking history for as long as you need; you can track 1, 5 or 40 competitors per project, depending on the licence.
- Scheduling: paid licences run checks automatically every day, week or month, or on a date you choose, and connect Google Analytics and Search Console.
- Keyword research in the same app: Google and Amazon suggestions, Google Ads Keyword Planner data, related questions, a Keyword Gap tool and keyword difficulty.
- Reports: white-label reports uploaded to Dropbox or the SEO PowerSuite cloud with a shareable link, or sent by email on a schedule.
The SEO PowerSuite pricing page sells Rank Tracker on its own or in the full suite, billed once a year on the default 1-year view (2-year and 3-year plans save 20% and 34%):
- Free, €0: check rankings for unlimited keywords with 1 competitor per project, but you cannot save projects, schedule tasks, copy data or print reports, and checks do not use the captcha-free query system. Good for a test, not for tracking progress over months.
- Rank Tracker Professional, €179 a year: for in-house use. 5 competitors per project, unlimited saved projects, scheduled tasks, captcha-free checks and printed reports with a watermark.
- Rank Tracker Enterprise, €419 a year: for client work. 40 competitors per project, plus saving, emailing and scheduling reports and export to CSV, SQL and HTML.
- SEO PowerSuite bundle: all four apps, including a site auditor and a backlink checker, for €349 (Professional), €599 (Enterprise) or €899 (Max +) a year. Every edition, the free one too, lists Google AI Overviews tracking.
- Refunds: you can cancel at any time through 2Checkout, but Link-Assistant does not refund partial use or the time left on a subscription. Test the free version first.
Best for: founders, small businesses and consultants who want to track many keywords, several search engines or many local markets for a low fixed yearly price, and who are happy to work in a desktop app.

Price: What a Year of Rank Tracking Costs
For a startup on a budget, the price gap is large. AccuRanker has no plan below 2,000 keywords, and by our own calculation its Professional plan costs about €2,688 a year on yearly billing (€224 x 12). Rank Tracker Professional costs €179 a year with no keyword limit, and even the whole SEO PowerSuite Enterprise bundle (€599 a year) costs less than a quarter of AccuRanker Professional. What AccuRanker's price buys is convenience and speed: no installation, unlimited users, an online dashboard your clients can see, two-hourly refreshes and an API.
AccuRanker vs Rank Tracker: Feature by Feature
Cloud vs desktop
This is the real choice. AccuRanker runs on its own servers: rankings update every day whether your laptop is open or not, and your team logs in from any browser. Rank Tracker is software on your computer: you set up projects and schedules in the app, and you share results as uploaded reports or by email. If one founder does the SEO, desktop software is fine; if five people and three clients need to see the numbers, the cloud is easier.
Update frequency and speed
AccuRanker updates every keyword daily and lets you refresh a keyword or a whole domain every two hours, which helps during a launch or a Google update. Rank Tracker checks rankings when you run a check or on the schedule you set (daily, weekly, monthly or a custom date) on paid licences. Neither is a live, "real-time" feed, whatever older reviews say.
Search engines and local results
Both track more than Google. AccuRanker's help guide on adding keywords lists Google, Bing, Baidu (for the Chinese market) and YouTube, on desktop and mobile, by country and optional location. Note how it counts: each keyword counts once per search engine, device and location, so tracking 1,000 keywords on Google desktop and mobile uses 2,000 of your plan. Rank Tracker covers far more engines (Yahoo, Naver and Yandex too, over 597 in total) and local results down to a street address, and because its keywords are unlimited, adding engines or devices costs nothing extra.
AI search visibility
AccuRanker goes further here: AccuLLM tracks your brand in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, with mentions, cited sources and sentiment, on its own plans. SEO PowerSuite lists Google AI Overviews tracking on every edition, so Rank Tracker users see when an AI Overview appears for their keywords. If AI answers matter most to you, also read SE Ranking vs AccuRanker, where SE Ranking includes AI prompt tracking in its plans.
Keyword research
Both include research. Rank Tracker has Keyword Planner data, Google and Amazon suggestions, related questions and a Keyword Gap tool inside the app. AccuRanker's Professional plan includes keyword research and search intent, and its keyword research database and Organic Site Explorer show what any domain ranks for. For research first, see Keyword Tool vs Rank Tracker.
What Changed Since the Old Version of This Comparison
- AccuRanker's price was wrong. The 2026 version said AccuRanker starts at $129 a month. Today's pricing page shows Professional at €224 a month billed yearly for 2,000 keywords.
- AccuRanker has no free trial now. Its free-trial page redirects to a demo request; you can buy a plan and use the 14-day refund instead.
- Keyword counting: AccuRanker still tracks Google, Bing and YouTube (plus Baidu for China), but each search engine, device and location counts as a separate keyword on your plan; Rank Tracker has no keyword limit.
- No "real-time" tracker: AccuRanker updates daily with two-hourly refreshes; Rank Tracker checks on your schedule.
- New AI features: AccuRanker added AccuLLM and AccuRanker MCP; SEO PowerSuite added Google AI Overviews tracking to every edition.
- Removed: a "75% of users never scroll past the first page" statistic with no source, FAQ answers about other tools built on third-party blog posts, and a generic "common mistakes" list.
Not to be confused: Ranktracker.com is a different, browser-based SEO suite with a similar name. This article compares SEO PowerSuite's desktop Rank Tracker, which the earlier version of this post described.
Which One Should You Choose?
- You are a founder doing your own SEO on a small budget: Rank Tracker. Start with the free version, then buy Professional for €179 a year when you want saved projects and scheduled checks.
- You want to test before paying: Rank Tracker's free version. AccuRanker has no trial, only a 14-day refund after you buy.
- You track many search engines, devices or local markets: Rank Tracker, with over 597 search engines, street-level locations and no keyword limit. AccuRanker counts each engine, device and location as a separate keyword.
- You run an agency or a team that needs a shared dashboard: AccuRanker, for unlimited users, tagging, client reporting, two-hourly refreshes and its API.
- You care about ChatGPT and AI Overviews: AccuRanker with AccuLLM covers more AI engines; Rank Tracker shows Google AI Overviews.
- You also need site audits and backlinks: the SEO PowerSuite bundle (from €349 a year) adds both to Rank Tracker.

How Founders Use AccuRanker, Rank Tracker and Other SEO Tools
Rank tracking only helps if you act on it. Pick 20 to 50 keywords your customers type before they buy, track them with two or three competitors, check them weekly and update the pages that slip. A startup rarely needs an enterprise tracker in its first year; move to a cloud tool when you publish every week, hire a marketer or run SEO for clients. For more options, read our guides to free rank trackers and rank trackers for startups, and compare Wincher vs Keyword Surfer if you also want free keyword data in Google's results.
Choosing a full SEO suite instead? Our comparisons cover Ahrefs vs Semrush and KWFinder vs Wincher, and our list of Ahrefs alternatives includes cheaper all-in-one tools. To find more places to promote your startup, browse the F/MS Marketing Directories.
A tracker tells you where you rank; it does not write the pages that rank. The F/MS AI SEO Tool turns your keywords into articles built to rank on Google and to be cited by ChatGPT and Perplexity, with human editors checking the result. Then track those pages in Rank Tracker or AccuRanker.
