Rank Tracker is one of the four desktop apps in SEO PowerSuite, next to WebSite Auditor, SEO SpyGlass and LinkAssistant. It runs on Windows, macOS and Linux, and there is no limit on the number of keywords, websites or locations you track. Link-Assistant says it covers over 597 search engines (its pricing page uses lower round figures of 400+ and 550+), including Google with Maps, featured snippets, ads and image packs, plus Bing, Yahoo, YouTube, Naver, Yandex and Baidu. What you get:
- Rank checks your way: desktop and mobile rankings, from country down to city or a street address, scanning the top 10, top 50 or up to the top 1,000 results.
- Competitors and SERP history: track 1, 5 or 40 competitors per project, depending on the licence, and keep a history of the top 30 results for each check.
- Scheduled checks: run checks daily, weekly or monthly (paid licences), and connect Google Analytics and Google Search Console.
- Keyword research: keyword research methods and a SERP analysis tool are built in, so you can find terms and then track them in the same app.
- Reports: reports you can upload to Dropbox or the SEO PowerSuite cloud for a shareable link; branded reports sent by email on a schedule come with the Enterprise licence.
The trade-off is that Rank Tracker is software on your computer, not a web dashboard your whole team logs in to. That suits a founder or a freelancer who tracks their own sites; a team that wants shared, always-on tracking in the browser may prefer a cloud tool.

The SEO PowerSuite pricing page sells Rank Tracker on its own or as part of the full suite, and every plan is billed once a year:
- Free: €0, for as long as you want. You can check rankings and track 1 competitor per project, but saving projects, scheduled tasks, captcha-free query processing, copying data and printing reports are not included. In practice it is a way to test the tool, not to track rankings over time.
- Rank Tracker Professional, €179 a year: for in-house use. 5 competitors per project, unlimited saved projects, scheduled tasks, captcha-free checks and printed reports (with watermarks).
- Rank Tracker Enterprise, €419 a year: for client work. 40 competitors per project, plus saving, emailing and scheduling reports, and data export in CSV, SQL and HTML.
- SEO PowerSuite bundle: all four apps for €349 a year (Professional), €599 a year (Enterprise) or €899 a year (Max +) on the default 1-year plan. Every edition, including the free one, lists Google AI Overviews tracking.
- Refunds: the pricing page says it cannot refund partial use or the time left on a subscription, so test the free version on your own keywords first.

BrightEdge: Rank Tracking Inside an Enterprise Platform
BrightEdge calls itself an AI-powered AEO and SEO platform for Google, AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity. It was founded in 2007 by Jim Yu and Lemuel Park, and its about page says it has 2,400 customers worldwide, including 57 of the Fortune 100. Rank tracking sits inside a much larger product:
- Keyword Reporting: tracks rankings and performance of your important keywords, broken down by desktop, smartphone or tablet and by more than 70,000 local and global locations. It shows share of voice against competitors, appearances in Quick Answers, videos and Local 3 Packs, and trends over weeks, months and quarters next to impressions, clicks, estimated visits and revenue.
- Instant: on-demand data without setting up tracking first: current rankings on Google, Bing and Yahoo, SERP features such as AI Overviews and People Also Ask, and whether you appear in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google's AI Mode, down to city or hyperlocal level.
- Data Cube X: its keyword and competitor research dataset; BrightEdge says it holds over 4 billion data points with 10 years of history.
- AI Hyper Cube, Copilot, Autopilot and AI Catalyst: AI search visibility, AI suggestions, automatic on-site optimisation and AI content strategy, which go far beyond rank tracking.
What BrightEdge Costs
BrightEdge does not publish prices. Its product pricing page asks you to fill in a form or call sales, and brightedge.com/pricing redirects to the demo request form, which says it is trusted by 1,700+ enterprise brands. The demo is a call about your brand and competitors, a live analysis of your brand in Google and AI search, and recommended actions. We found no free plan or self-serve trial. Any BrightEdge price quoted elsewhere is a third-party estimate, not an official number, so ask for a written quote and the contract length.

Rank Trackers in the Browser: SE Ranking and AccuRanker
The older version of this guide used "rank tracker" for cloud tools as well. If you want tracking that runs on a server and that your team opens in the browser, two of them are worth a look:

- AccuRanker: a dedicated rank tracker with daily updates and on-demand refreshes. Professional started at €249 a month (€224 billed yearly) for 2,000 keywords; no free trial was listed, but first purchases can be refunded within 14 days.
What Changed Since the Old Version of This Guide
- Which Rank Tracker: the 2026 version of this guide used "rank tracker" as a general term and mostly described SE Ranking. This version compares BrightEdge with the product called Rank Tracker, by SEO PowerSuite, and keeps SE Ranking and AccuRanker as browser-based options.
- BrightEdge features: the old names DataMind and StoryBuilder are not on BrightEdge's current product pages; the platform now presents Data Cube X, Copilot, AI Hyper Cube, Autopilot, Instant and Agent Edge.
