Wincher vs Keywords Everywhere: Which SEO Tool Should a Startup Pay for First?
Most startups can afford one paid SEO tool, not five. Wincher and Keywords Everywhere are two of the cheapest serious options, but they do different jobs. Wincher is a rank tracker: it checks every day where your pages rank on Google for the keywords you choose, and shows your competitors next to you. Keywords Everywhere is a browser extension: it adds search volume, cost per click and competition right into Google, YouTube, Amazon and other sites while you search, and it is paid with credits. We checked both on their official pricing pages in October 2026, including the free rank tracker that the Keywords Everywhere team now offers.
Quick answer: if you are still choosing topics and have little or no ranking content, pay for Keywords Everywhere first: the Bronze plan costs $84 a year for 100,000 keyword credits, and its free Website Ranking Checker tracks your own site from Search Console data. Add Wincher (from €49 a month, with a 7-day free trial) once you have pages close to page one and need daily positions for chosen keywords, locations and competitors.

The Two Tools in Detail
Wincher: Daily Rank Tracking for Small Teams
Wincher is a Stockholm-based rank tracker that calls itself a search visibility platform. You add the keywords you care about, choose the location and device, and Wincher records your Google position for each one every day, with SERP features, ranking pages, history and the positions of the competitors you add. Around the tracker it has a Keyword Explorer, an on-page SEO checker per landing page, PDF reports and a Google Search Console connection.
- Plans (monthly billing, euros): Basic €49 (from 500 keywords, up to 10 websites, 1 user), Standard €89 (from 1,000 keywords, unlimited websites, multiple users) and Professional €319 (from 5,000 keywords). Each plan scales to more keywords, and above 50,000 Wincher gives a custom quote. See Wincher pricing.
- On every plan: daily ranking updates, competitor tracking (5, 10 or 20 per website), device and location tracking, Keyword Explorer with unlimited daily lookups, AI keyword suggestions, an AI content outliner and scheduled PDF reports.
- On Standard and up: on-demand ranking updates, share of voice, keyword gap, position history import, white-labelled reports, API access and Google Looker Studio.
- Local SEO: a local rank tracker for Google Maps with weekly updates and 25 included credits; extra credits cost €10 per 500.
- Trial: a 7-day free trial and a 7-day refund on the first purchase. There is no public free plan.
Best for: founders and small marketing teams who already publish and want to see every morning whether their important pages moved, and where competitors stand. For how Wincher compares with a full SEO suite, see our Ahrefs vs Wincher comparison and our older Semrush vs Wincher review.
Keywords Everywhere: Keyword Data While You Search
Keywords Everywhere is a browser extension for Chrome, Firefox and Edge (there is no Safari version or mobile app). Search on Google and it shows the volume, CPC, competition and 12-month trend for your query, plus Related, People Also Search For and long-tail keyword widgets next to the results. It does the same on YouTube, Amazon, Bing, eBay, Etsy, Google Search Console, Google Trends and other sites, and it can show the top keywords and backlinks of any website you research.
- Free features: the extension is free to install with nothing to sign up for. Website traffic and Moz link metrics, the keyword widgets (without numbers), on-page keyword analysis, social media metrics and 200+ prompt templates for ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini work without paying.
- Paid data runs on credits: one credit buys the volume, CPC, competition and trend for one keyword. A Google search that shows 8 related, 20 People Also Search For and 25 long-tail keywords uses 1 + 8 + 20 + 25 = 54 credits. When credits run out, the widgets keep showing keywords but hide the numbers.
- Plans (annual only): Bronze $84 a year ($7 a month) with 100,000 credits and 1 seat, Silver $168 with 400,000 credits and 3 seats, Gold $480 with 2 million and 10 seats, Platinum $1,440 with 8 million and 20 seats. All plans include every feature, the API and an MCP server; see Keywords Everywhere pricing and the plan comparison.
- Credits expire 12 months after purchase, oldest first. Extra credit packs start at $80 for 200,000 credits.
Rough maths: at about 54 credits per Google search with all widgets on, Bronze's 100,000 credits cover around 1,850 such searches a year (our calculation from the example on the pricing page). You can switch off metrics for autocomplete suggestions, or turn the extension off when you are not researching, to make credits last.

Website Ranking Checker: the Free Rank Tracker From Keywords Everywhere
The biggest change since the old version of this comparison: the Keywords Everywhere team launched Website Ranking Checker, a free rank tracker. You log in with your Keywords Everywhere API key (a free account works), connect your Google account with read-only access, and it imports your positions, impressions, clicks and CTR from Google Search Console, refreshed daily, with email alerts and reports such as CTR gaps, content decay, quick wins (positions 11 to 20) and cannibalisation.
- Limits by plan: free accounts track 5,000 keywords, global only, with 2 years of history; Bronze raises this to 10,000 keywords plus one country and 3 years; higher plans add more countries.
- The catch: the data comes from your own Search Console, so it only covers websites you have verified and queries Google already shows your pages for. Search Console reports an average position, and the tracker does not list competitor tracking. Wincher checks the keywords you pick, in the location and device you pick, and shows competitors.
What Changed Since the Old Version of This Comparison
- Wincher costs more than the old article said. It quoted a $29 starting price; Wincher's pricing page now starts at €49 a month for Basic on monthly billing.
- Keywords Everywhere is no longer pay-as-you-go only. Plans are annual, from $84 a year, and every credit expires 12 months after purchase. Credit packs are still sold on top.
- Keywords Everywhere now covers rank tracking too, for your own site, through the free Website Ranking Checker based on Search Console data.
- Both tools added AI features: Wincher has AI keyword suggestions and an AI content outliner; Keywords Everywhere has an MCP server for AI assistants and AI Overview metrics.
- Removed: links to third-party screenshots and old blog posts, and general claims without a source.
Which One Should a Startup Pay for First?
- You have no content yet, or only a few pages: Keywords Everywhere Bronze ($84 a year). Research is your first job, and there are not enough rankings to track. Connect the free Website Ranking Checker once Search Console shows impressions.
- You publish weekly and have pages on page two: Wincher Basic (€49 a month). Daily positions for chosen keywords show quickly whether an update worked. Start with the 7-day trial.
- You want to beat specific competitors: Wincher, which tracks 5 to 20 competitors per website next to you. For deeper competitor research, see SpyFu vs Keyword Insights.
- You sell on Amazon, Etsy or YouTube: Keywords Everywhere, which shows volumes on those sites; Wincher tracks Google.
- You run local SEO for a shop or clinic: Wincher's local rank tracker for Google Maps.
- You have no budget at all: Google Search Console, the free Keywords Everywhere features and Website Ranking Checker, and Wincher's free tools. Our lists of free rank trackers and free keyword planner tools have more options.
- You can pay for both: together they cost about €49 a month plus $84 a year, still less than most all-in-one SEO suites.

How Founders Use Wincher and Keywords Everywhere Together
- Find the words customers use. Search your problem on Google with Keywords Everywhere switched on and note the long-tail phrases in the widgets. Our guide to finding long-tail keywords shows the method.
- Check who already ranks. Research two or three competitor domains to see their top keywords; our guide to checking competitor keywords explains what to look for.
- Publish one strong page per topic. If writing is the bottleneck, the F/MS AI SEO Tool turns a keyword into a full article written to rank on Google and to be cited by ChatGPT and Perplexity, with human editors checking it.
- Track 20 to 50 buyer keywords. Add them to Wincher with two competitors, or let Website Ranking Checker pull them from Search Console. Our guide to rank trackers compares more options.
- Fix what slips first. When a page drops out of the top 10, refresh its facts, answer the query better and add internal links before writing anything new.
Search data is also a cheap test of demand: if nobody searches for the problem you solve, validate your startup idea with real users before you build more.
